CHICKEN

It’s not just any fried chicken - it’s Big Dean’s

We take fried chicken seriously around here. We brine it, and dust it with a base coat of seasoned flour. White Lily self-rising flour is a staple in every southern kitchen, so you know it’s in ours. Add a dash of cornstarch, too, because light & crispy is the name of the game.

A dip into our extra special buttermilk mixture follows, then one last coating of flour. These steps are the  key to building up our crispy, craggly, light & flaky crunch. Believe us. It’s worth the effort.

You take your pick for heat.

Traditional Southern:  No heat - like your granny used to make in the skillet

BD Original Hot:  Our version of Nashville Hot style chicken. Cayenne and Aleppo peppers lend heat and complexity.

Dang Hot: Add a dusting of ghost-habanero-cayenne powder. Prepare to be scorched.


SAUCES

BD's Signature Sauce:  Imagine a cross between the creamy depth of a NOLA remoulade and the familiar tang of thousand island. We make it sing with our homemade pickles, Duke's Mayo, Cider Vinegar and a perfect balance of spices. You’ve gotta try it.

Honey Mustard: Sweet & simple works every time. Creole & dijon mustards + pure honey combine for this fan favorite.

Ranch: Smooth and creamy with the tang of buttermilk, garlic and fresh herbs, notably dill. The perfect sauce to cool the heat of our hot chicken.

Sexy Honey: Pure honey gets a little kick with a touch of shaved garlic and chipotle pepper purée.

Tennessee Sunshine BBQ: All the feels of being at a Tennessee picnic.  Our BBQ is a mix of Carolina-Style tangy mustard sauce and a sweet St. Louis-Style. We finish it off with smoky paprika & lots of black pepper for tons of flavor. 

TEXAS TOAST

Our thick-cut, chewy white bread is slathered with garlic butter & griddled up warm and toasty.


COLESLAW 

We’re pretty proud of our coleslaw. Shredded Napa and Green Cabbages, plus Red Onion combine for a great crunch. Fresh herbs including Parsley and Dill make it bright. Gently toss it all in a creamy, tangy, slightly sweet homemade dressing and you’ve got a winner. Plus, we make each serving of slaw to order, so it's always fresh and crunchy!


WAFFLE FRIES

Hot & crisp waffle fries are dusted with our own umami spice blend. Imagine the mouth tingle of a vinegar chip, but with fries!  Opt for a sprinkle of sea salt if you prefer.


HOMEMADE PICKLES

We start with English Cukes and give them a soak in our homemade pickling mixture, featuring mustard seeds, cinnamon, black peppercorns , garlic, and cider vinegar. The result is a deliciously flavorful sweet pickle we slice thick to keep that perfect snap.


CONSHY BAKED ROLL 

We searched high and low for the perfect sandwich roll and found it in our own backyard. Conshohocken Bakery’s perfect potato roll has just the right amount of "squish" to complement the chicken, and sturdiness to hold together while eating such a hearty sandwich. Perfection
